Dads Have No Shame

A Book Review by Pam

I have recently read a book called Dads Have No Shame, written by Carol Faulkner and illustrated by Gregory Rogers.

Two dads, Mr Doggett and Mr Humphries are each holding a garage sale and both go crazy trying to pull in customers, with one idea after the other. The story tells us what they get up to. I really liked the pictures in this book because they were simple and not scary to look at.

The bite marks, part of this books design, gives it a peculiar look which attracts your attention.

This book would be suitable for the young and old, as it is funny and witty. If you want a laugh, then turn to this book for a great read. You will not be disappointed.

Riki the Albatross Chick

A Book Review by Melissa

silhouette A good book to read to your children is Riki the Albatross Chick, written by Jane Thomson and illustrated by Annie Baird.

It is a true story about an albatross chick, who was born at Tairoa Heads on the Dunedin Peninsula. Sadly, Riki's Mum dies when he is very young. The story tells us about how Riki survives.

The pictures are nice and colourful and the story tells us about albatross families.

Children and their parents will enjoy this book.
